LaVille 3, Caston 2 (Tuesday): Grant Yadon had a two-run single in the fifth inning, and Talon Zeider pitched a seven-hitter with seven strikeouts, but the Caston baseball team lost to host LaVille in the Hoosier North opener for both teams Tuesday.
Noah Herd added a pair of singles for Caston, and Preston Holderfield had a double. Caleb Stinson had a hit and a walk.
Caston committed three errors that led to two unearned runs for LaVille.
LaVille scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to turn around a 2-1 deficit.
The teams will meet again at Caston on April 25. Their meeting scheduled for Monday was postponed due to inclement weather.
Caston hosts Peru on Thursday.
