Zahm has both hits in Argos softball loss to West Central

Westville at Argos, ppd.: The Westville-Argos softball game scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed to May 20 due to inclement weather. Start time is 6 p.m. at Argos.

Elkhart Christian at Argos, ppd.: The Elkhart Christian-Argos softball game scheduled for Friday has been postponed to May 8. Start time is 1 p.m. at Argos.

West Central 21, Argos 1 (5 innings, Monday): Allison Zahm had a pair of singles and scored the lone Argos run in a road loss to Class 1A, No. 6 West Central Monday.

Kara Sabanski had the lone RBI.

Aleasia Sarver started and went ⅔ of an inning and took the loss. Zahm pitched the final 3 ⅓ innings and allowed seven earned runs.

Argos committed nine errors.

Annika Smith homered twice and drove in seven runs for West Central. The Lady Trojans had 15 hits and also drew five walks.

Baseball

Argos 19-0, Oregon-Davis 8-26 (Saturday): Argos and Oregon-Davis split a doubleheader Saturday. Argos won the first game 19-8 in six innings, and O-D won the second game 26-0 in five innings.

Kurt Johnson and Bryce Beerwart each had two doubles in the opener. Jackson Kindig, Kole Burkholder and Jaiden Klingerman also had two hits each.

Argos had 13 hits and also drew 16 walks.

Dylan Kindig got the win. He allowed 10 hits and walked two but also struck out 10.

Burkholder got the final out.

Johnson took the loss in Game 2. He allowed seven hits and nine runs. He walked two and struck out three. Bryce Beerwart allowed two hits and seven runs, Kyle Bradley allowed one hit and three runs, and Klingerman allowed one hit and seven runs.

Argos pitchers walked 14.
