Boys basketball

Caston 52, Pioneer 36 (Dec. 2): Talon Zeider scored 16 points, and Caleb Stinson added 14 for the Caston boys basketball team in a win over Pioneer in the consolation of the

Cass County Invitational at Logansport on Dec. 2.

Cain Schanlaub added eight points, and Jackson Rentschler had seven.

Caston built a 19-5 lead after one quarter and extended the lead to 31-10 at halftime.

Drew McKaig scored 17 of his game-high 25 points in the second half for Pioneer, who fell to 0-3.

Zeider and McKaig both made the all-tournament team.

The teams will meet again at Pioneer on Jan. 27 in their Hoosier North meeting.
