Argos, Caston, Culver, Rochester, Tippecanoe Valley and Winamac were among 317 schools statewide that the IHSAA recognized as “First Team All-Sportsmanship,” per a press release Tuesday.

In addition, Pioneer was one of 52 schools listed as “Honorable Mention All-Sportsmanship.”

Points are deducted by contest ejections of players, coaches, administrators and fans. Schools that are First Team All-Sportsmanship have accumulated 100 points. Honorable Mention schools have accumulated 95 points.

“We want to acknowledge and congratulate those schools who have exemplified sportsmanship as indicated by their sportsmanship scores,” IHSAA Assistant Commissioner Jane Schott said in a statement. “By recognizing schools at the end of the season, we hope this encourages schools to celebrate those programs who show exemplary sportsmanship.”

The statement added that the 2024-25 school year marks the first time that schools’ sportsmanship was evaluated this way.
