Triton’s Patrick named conference MVP

Eight RTC area boys basketball players, including three from runner-up Winamac, were selected first-team All-Hoosier North in voting done by the conference’s coaches and released to the media.
The eight players included Winamac’s Justin Potthoff, Will Malchow and Jaybin Hines; Caston’s Lane Hook and Logan Mollenkopf; North Miami’s Karston Black and Ryan Meredith; and Culver’s Caleb McCuen.
Area players to earn honorable mention status included Caston’s Carson Harness, pioneer;s Shiloh Rine, Argos’ Mekhi Austin and Culver’s Jonas McCuen.
Four players from conference champion and Class 1A state runner-up Triton made the first team. Triton guard Landon Patrick was named the Hoosier North MVP.
Patrick’s father Chad and grandfather Bill are former Tippecanoe Valley coaches. Bill Patrick is an Indiana Basketball Hall of Famer.
