Argos boys basketball briefs: Historic defensive effort marks 39-11 win over Oregon-Davis

Boys basketball

Argos 39, Oregon-Davis 11 (Friday): J.J. Morris scored 14 points, and Michael Richard added 12, and the Argos defense held an opponent to its fewest points since the 1936-37 season in a win over host and sectional rival Oregon-Davis Friday.

Jake Stults and Dylan Kindig added four points each, Teddy Redinger had three, and Caden Nifong had two for the Dragons (8-3), who won their fourth straight game overall and their fifth straight against Oregon-Davis.

Argos led 19-6 at halftime and extended the lead to 22-7 after three quarters.

Argos 50, Bethany Christian 46 (Jan. 8): J.J. Morris scored 13 points, and Michael Richard added 11 for the Dragons in a Hoosier Plains home win over Bethany Christian Jan. 8.

Jake Stults, Kayden Brady and Sean Richard had six points each, Teddy Redinger had four, and Zak Heiman and Caden Nifong had two points each.

Argos led 21-16 at halftime.

Argos beat Bethany Christian for the ninth straight year.

Westville-Argos game to start at 6:30 p.m.: The Westville-Argos game scheduled for Jan. 29 will now start at 6:30 p.m. Eastern at Argos.
