Girls soccer falls to Warsaw despite 2 goals from Hines

Boys soccer

Argos 7, South Bend Riley 0 (Saturday): Aden Mills, Teddy Redinger and Luke Stults scored two goals each for the visiting Dragons in a win over South Bend Riley Saturday.

Kayden Brady also had a goal.

Ben Rangel had two assists, and Sean Richard and Ethan Petz had one assist each.

The Wildcats did not have a shot on goal against Argos goalkeeper Kurt Johnson.

Argos won their fourth straight game to improve to 4-2. All four wins have been by shutout.

Girls soccer

Warsaw 4, Argos 3 (Saturday): Lilly Hines scored twice, and Emma Dunlap had a goal and an assist, but Class 1A, No. 5 Argos lost to Warsaw at Eugene Snyder Field Saturday.

Aryanna Allen also had an assist for Argos (5-2-1).

The Lady Dragons rallied from a 3-0 deficit to tie the game in the 39th minute on Hines’ second goal. All three Argos goals came in the final 11 minutes of the first half.

Warsaw scored the game-winning goal in the 70th minute.

Warsaw had a 13-3 advantage in shots on goal.

Despite the loss, Argos stayed at No. 5 in this week’s Class 1A girls soccer goal. They are the only team in Sectional 35 that is ranked.

Volleyball

Culver def. Argos, 25-9, 25-15, 25-19 (Tuesday): Grace Sieber had six kills, nine serves received and 13 digs for the host Lady Cavaliers in a win over sectional rival Argos Tuesday.

Luci Overmyer had five kills and eight digs. Chloee Danti had 10 assists.
