Bailey falls to Lowell’s Fleming at singles tourney

Lowell’s Aubrey Fleming defeated Rochester’s Olivia Bailey 6-3, 6-1 in a state singles sectional match at Crown Point High School Wednesday.

Bailey finished with a 12-6 record. Her 2-0 record at the Culver Academy sectional allowed her to continue on in the singles state tournament even though the team had been eliminated.

Rochester coach Jesse Atkinson called the match “extremely well-played” in a statement.

“We are incredibly proud of her work, competitive drive and leadership as she concludes her illustrious high school athletics career,” Atkinson added.

Bailey is a Valparaiso University golf signee.
