Beehler signs with Rose-Hulman; Reinartz signs with Grace

Rochester baseball seniors Brock Beehler and Kyle Reinartz will both be playing the sport collegiately.

Beehler signed with Rose-Hulman during the spring. Reinartz signed with Grace College.

Rose-Hulman is an NCAA Division III school located in Terre Haute. It is the top-ranked engineering college nationally, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2021 Best Colleges Guide.

“I felt like it was the best fit for me,” Beehler said. “They have the major I want to go into, which is mechanical engineering. It is a small school, which I think is a better fit for me than, like, a big school. It was down to Purdue and Rose-Hulman, and I had an opportunity to play baseball at the next level, and I took advantage of it. And I’m looking forward to a great next four years.”

After losing the 2020 spring season to the coronavirus pandemic, Beehler was a first-team all-Three Rivers Conference player as a senior and helped lead the Zebras to the Class 2A, Sectional 37 title.

The sectional title was Rochester’s first in seven years. Beehler was the winning pitcher in the sectional quarterfinal against Lewis Cass on May 26 and the sectional final against Whitko on May 31.

Beehler went 6-2 with a 2.51 ERA on the mound. He also hit .356 with 27 RBIs at the plate.

Reinartz, a left-handed pitcher and center fielder, went 6-1 with a 2.84 ERA on the mound. He also hit .313 and led the team in extra-base hits (12), home runs (4) and RBIs (33).

He said he plans to major in business.

Beehler and Reinartz were also teammates on the Warsaw Attack travel team.
