Benn, Kirchenstien, Stiles help Valley overcome early deficit vs. Wabash

Softball

Tippecanoe Valley 23, Wabash 9 (5 innings, Wednesday): Macy Kirchenstien and Corinna Stiles had three hits and two RBIs each, and Brittany Benn had three hits and two RBIs for the Valley softball team in a win over conference and sectional rival Wabash Wednesday.

Kayleena Agnew singled, doubled and drove in a run, and Mercedes Snapp also had two hits and an RBI. Molly Moriarty had a hit and two RBIs.

Brayden Baney doubled, walked twice, stole two bases and scored three runs.

Kirchenstien allowed four runs, all earned, in five innings for the win. She allowed one hit and walked six while striking out nine.

The game featured 18 walks and and five hit batters between the two teams.

Wabash scored seven runs in the first and still led 9-8 going into the third when Valley scored six runs to take the lead for good.

Valley is 1-2 in the Three Rivers Conference. Wabash is 0-3.
