Berndt’s 4 treys spark Culver to sectional win over S. Central

McCune adds 12, Davis 11; Lady Cavs force 38 turnovers

Culver 51, South Central (Union Mills) 25 (Tuesday): Ashlynn Berndt hit four 3-pointers and scored a game-high 16 points to lead three players in double figures as Culver routed the Lady Satellites in a Class 1A, Sectional 51 quarterfinal at Oregon-Davis Tuesday.

Ava McCune added 12 points, and Brooke Davis had 11. Davis and Eliana Andrzejewski tied for team-high rebounding honors with six each.

McCune had seven steals. South Central had 38 turnovers as compared to Culver’s 12. South Central went just 2 for 14 from 3-point range.

The Lady Cavs led 33-11 at halftime.

Culver (16-6) also beat South Central 38-34 in their regular season meeting at John R. Nelson Gymnasium Nov. 6.

Culver will play Triton in the semifinals at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Friday. Triton outlasted Oregon-Davis 39-24 in Tuesday’s other quarterfinal.

Culver beat Triton 39-30 at home in their regular season meeting Jan. 16.
