Burkholder has lone Argos hit in loss to Winamac

Winamac 10, Argos 0 (5 innings, Thursday): Kendra Burkholder had a single for Argos’ lone hit in a road loss to Winamac Thursday. Aleasia Sarver drew a walk.

Sarver took the loss in the circle, allowing 10 hits and eight runs (all earned) in 3 ⅓ innings. She walked three and struck out one. Sydney Lewark pitched ⅔ of an innings and allowed one hit and two runs (one earned). She walked four and struck out none.

Argos is 0-2.

Maggie Smith, McKenzie Hinz and Emma Goodman had two hits each for Winamac.

Smith threw a one-hitter with nine strikeouts.

In other Argos softball news, the postponed game with Westville from March 29 has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. May 3 at Argos.

The game with John Glenn that was scheduled for April 1 has been canceled.
