Calloway finishes 25th at state in 3,200

Rochester junior Madilyn Calloway finished in 25th place in 11:55.28 in the 3,200 meters at the IHSAA girls track state finals at Ben Davis High School Saturday.

Calloway’s time was 21.81 seconds slower than her regional time which qualified her for state.

Calloway had run an 11:51.77 at the Bremen sectional on May 18 and an 11:33.47 at the Goshen regional on May 25. She finished second at the sectional and third at the regional to make state.

The regional time is Calloway’s personal best.

Calloway has made state in cross-country twice and track once so far in her prep career.

Indianapolis Chatard’s Lily Cridge won the race in 10:03.16.
