Softball
North Miami rallied from a 3-0 deficit to beat Caston 5-3 in last year’s Class 1A, Sectional 52 final. The game was a matchup of conference champions: North Miami won the Three Rivers Conference, and Caston won the Hoosier North.
They will be in the same sectional again as Class 1A, Sectional 52 was brought back in tact. North White, Northfield, Southwood and West Central are the other four teams.
Caston has never won a sectional title in softball.
Baseball
Caston won their first sectional title in 10 years last spring before falling to South Central (Union Mills) in the regional semifinals.. They are in Class 1A, Sectional 52 again, and the other five teams in the sectional were also in the sectional last year: North Miami, North White, Northfield, Southwood and West Central.
Pioneer was also in the sectional last year, but they have moved up to Class 2A due to increased enrollment.
