Caston, Winamac, Culver all drop Hoosier North contests

Robinson, E. Lewellen rush for over 100 yards in Panther win

LaVille 41, Caston 6 (Friday): Sam Smith ran for 70 yards and a touchdown and also led the defense with eight tackles, but the visiting Comets lost to Class 2A, No. 13 Laville Friday.

Grant Hickle had a team-high 72 yards but also lost two fumbles and threw an interception.

Hickle also had five tackles on defense.

Greg Brault, Josh Sullivan, Landon Shafer and Garrison Hickle had three tackles each. Damian Sullivan, Grant Yadon and Jessie Rock-Wolf had two tackles each. Can Schanlaub had one tackle.

Damian Sullivan also deflected a pass and blocked an extra point on defense and had 36 yards rushing on offense. Schanlaub also had a fumble recovery.

Rock-Wolf also had a reception for two yards on offense.

Lucas Plummer threw two touchdown passes to Leyton Czarnecki for LaVille. Andrew Dill ran for 109 yards and two touchdowns.

LaVille led 35-0 at halftime.

Caston lost to LaVille for the sixth straight year.

North Judson 29, Winamac 0 (Friday): Russell Compton had a team-high 39 yards rushing and also had 28 yards passing, but the host Warriors lost to conference and sectional rival North Judson Friday.

Shawn Pratt had 30 yards rushing, and Hayden Clark had 28.

Brayden Lynch and Jaden Terry had two receptions each.

North Judson led 16-0 at halftime.

Winamac has lost the last four meetings against North Judson by a combined score of 129-14.

Pioneer 48, Indianapolis Attucks 12 (Friday): Brock Robinson ran for 180 yards and three touchdowns, and Ezra Lewellen ran for 115 yards and a score on just six carries as the Class 2A, No. 3 Panthers rolled over Indianapolis Attucks Friday.

Freshman quarterback Cayden Hill added two touchdown runs, and Brian Gluth also had a touchdown run.

Pioneer had 328 yards rushing.

Addai Lewellen had eight tackles, and Logan Smith had seven tackles.

Pioneer outscored Indianapolis Attucks, a Class 4A team, 22-0 in the second quarter to build a 30-6 halftime lead.

Despite the win, Pioneer dropped from No. 3 to No. 4 in this week’s Class 2A Associated Press poll.

Triton 48, Culver 8 (Friday): Tucker Fisher threw a 53-yard touchdown pass to Emiliano Ortiz, but the visiting Cavaliers lost to Triton Friday.

Shane Shuman had 17 carries for 115 yards for Culver, including a 59-yard carry.

Hunter McIntyre ran for 57 yards and two scores for Culver.

Alex Zehner led the defense with six tackles.

Triton led 34-8 at halftime.
