Center Grove’s Gilliard voted Miss Basketball

Girls basketball
Gracyn Gilliard, a 5-11 guard from Center Grove, was named Miss Basketball Friday.
Media and girls varsity coaches voted online. The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association and All-Star game director Mike Broughton conducted the vote.
Gilliard will wear the No. 1 jersey for the Indiana All-Stars in their annual two-game series against Kentucky. The Indiana All-Stars will play the Kentucky All-Stars June 5 at a site in Kentucky to be determined and June 6 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
The rest of the Indiana All-Stars will be announced at a later date.
Gilliard received 51 first-place votes, according to the IBCA. Runner-up Lola Lampley of Lawrence Central received 34 first-place votes, third-place finisher Vanessa Rosswurm of Norwell received 24 votes, and fourth-place finisher Lilli Barnes of Valparaiso was fourth with 10 votes. Twenty-two other players received at least one vote.
Gilliard is the first winner of the award in Center Grove history. Trayce Jackson-Davis won the Mr. Basketball honor in 2019.
Gilliard played her first two prep seasons at Munster and her last two at Center Grove.
She averaged 25.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 2.7 steals per game as a senior in leading Center Grove to a 29-0 record and the Class 4A state title.
She finished with 1,898 career points, 438 rebounds, 179 assists and 336 steals.
She is a Davidson College recruit.
