Girls basketball
Washingtown Township 55, Argos 52 (OT, Saturday): Emma Dunlap scored a game-high 22 points, and Samantha Redinger added 21, but the Argos girls basketball team lost a Class 1A regional to Washington Township at Caston Saturday.
Redinger went on a personal 11-0 run in the third quarter as Argos turned a 35-24 deficit into a 35-35 tie.
Ellie Bollenbacher added six points, including both Argos points in overtime.
Addison Graf hit three 3-pointers and scored 19 points for Washington Township. Gracie Little added 15, including four of Washington Township’s five points in the overtime.
Leading scorer Clair Klinger, who came in averaging 15.4 ppg, was held to six before fouling out.
Washington Township led 30-24 at halftime before Argos closed the gap to 44-42 after three quarters.
The game was tied at 50 after regulation.
Washington Township won despite making just 10 of 21 free throws.
Washington Township won their first regional since 2003. They had not won a sectional since then prior to this year.
Argos finished 13-13.
