Combs, Goodman go deep for Lady Warriors

Winamac 9, Rochester 8 (Tuesday): Emma Howdeshell doubled, tripled and homered and drove in four runs, and Kylie Coleman homered and had three RBIs for Rochester in a road loss to sectional rival Winamac Tuesday.
Darah Strasser added a single, a triple, a hit-by-pitch and an RBI and scored three times. Aubrey Miller also had two hits. Mylee Heinzmann had a double, and Kallie Watson and Sydney Haughs each had a single.
Mia Howdeshell took the loss in the circle, allowing 11 hits and nine earned runs in six innings. She walked three, hit two batters and struck out two.
Corrin Combs hit a grand slam, and Emma Goodman also homered for Winamac, who built a 6-2 lead after three innings. McKenzie Hinz pitched a nine-hitter with eight strikeouts.
Winamac won despite committing four errors. Only two of the eight runs that Hinz allowed were earned.
Both teams are 3-2.
