Brady Beck adds 4 RBIs as Rochester continues streak vs. Vikes

Rochester 13, Tippecanoe Valley 0 (5 innings, Friday): Colton Ferverda and Gavin Young combined on a three-hit shutout, and Ferverda had a single, a double and five RBIs at the plate for the visiting Rochester baseball team as they whitewashed host Valley Friday.
Brady Beck added two singles and four RBIs, and Brant Beck added two hits and an RBI. Brady Coleman and Tanner Reinartz each had a hit and an RBI. Jake Seuferer had a double. Young was hitless, but he walked three times, drove in a run and scored twice.
Three Valley pitchers also combined to walk 10 and hit a batter, and Valley also committed two errors that led to four unearned runs.
Braxton Alderfer had a double, and Hunter Paxton and Wes Haines each had a single.
Haines took the loss on the mound, allowing three hits and five runs (two earned) in 1 ⅔ innings. He walked five and struck out none.
Luke Tucker relieved and allowed three hits and five runs (four earned) in 2 ⅓ innings. He walked four and struck out one. Gage Hileman pitched the fifth and allowed three hits and three runs (all earned). He walked one and fanned two.
Rochester scored three runs in the first, all with two outs on Ferverda’s RBI walk and Brady Beck’s two-run single.
Parker Adamson tried to score from first on Alderfer’s two-out double in the bottom of the first, but right fielder Brant Beck hit cutoff man Reinartz, who hit catcher Seuferer to retire Adamson at the plate.
Coleman’s RBI double and Reinartz’s RBI single in the second made it 5-0.
Carson Paulik and Reinartz drew back-to-back walks to start the fourth, and Seuferer reached on an error to load the bases.
Young’s RBI walk made it 6-0, and Ferverda lined a two-run double to left to make it 8-0. Brady Beck singled to center to score two more runs and make it 10-0.
Ferverda walked Issiac Ramsey and Cameron Manuel in the fourth but struck out Landon Durkes to escape trouble.
Reinartz led off the fifth with a walk and went to third on Seuferer’s double. Two batters later, Ferverda singled to center to drive home Reinartz and Seuferer. Ferverda later stole second and scored on Brant Beck’s RBI hit.
Young took over to start the fifth. He allowed Hileman to reach on an error and a single to Paxton but struck out the other three batters he faced.
Valley has not beaten Rochester since 2017.
