Gottschalk wins at No. 3 singles, but Rochester falls to Wabash

Wabash 4, Rochester 1 (Wednesday): Luke Gottschalk won in three sets at No. 3 singles, but the visiting Zebras lost to conference and sectional rival Wabash Wednesday.

Gottschalk won 6-1, 4-6, 6-3.

Camden Zink won the second set of his match at No. 1 singles in a tiebreak before losing 6-3 in the third set. Griffin Newton won his first set 6-4 at No. 2 singles but did not win a game over the final two sets.

Logan Fuller and Jesse Smith lost in straight sets at No. 1 doubles, and Cash Casper and Ayden Smith lost in straight sets at No. 2 doubles.

Rochester is 3-8.

RESULTS: WABASH 4, ROCHESTER 1

Singles

Camden Zink (RHS) lost 6-2, 6-7 (6-10), 6-3.

Griffin Newton (RHS) lost 4-6, 6-0, 6-0.

Luke Gottschalk (RHS) won 6-1, 4-6, 6-3.

Doubles

Logan Fuller-Jesse Smith (RHS) lost 7-5, 7-5.

Cash Casper-Ayden Smith (RHS) lost 6-2, 6-2.
