Lilly Hines had two goals and two assists, and Emma Dunlap and Bella Stults also scored as the Argos girls soccer team avenged a regular season loss to Bethany Christian and defeated the Lady Bruins 4-1 in a Class 1A regional semifinal Thursday.

No. 17 Argos improved to 9-6-3 and will next play No. 7 Andrean in the regional final at 2 p.m. Saturday at Westview.

Bethany Christian finished 8-10-1.

Bethany had topped Argos 1-0 in their regular season meeting at Argos on Oct. 1, but Dunlap ended any chances at another shutout when she took a quick shot off a corner out of the air and scored in the 19th minute.

Four minutes later, Stults took a through pass from Hines and put a shot over Bethany goalkeeper Grace Triplett to make it 2-0.

The lead stayed 2-0 at halftime before Hines extended it to 3-0 in the 48th minute with a quick shot to the far corner. Stults provided the assist.

Hines scored an unassisted goal in the 62nd minute to make it 4-0.

Freshman Elishaba Sanchez scored less than a minute later for Bethany.

Argos had a 23-3 advantage in shots on goal. Alydia Leed had two saves in goal for the Lady Dragons.
