Horn, Beck win middle school state titles

Rochester Middle School students Layne Horn and Brant Beck each won state titles at the Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association state tournament on Jan. 30.
Horn won the title at 100 and did not allow a point in the process.
Beck won the 152-pound state title. He is the younger brother of Rochester High School sophomore and 220-pound conference, sectional and regional champ Brady Beck.
Declan Gard went 2-2 at 160 pounds and finished one match from making the top eight.
Matt Crossland was seventh at 182.
As a team, Rochester finished 18th in a field of 232 teams. Rochester had the smallest enrollment of any school in the top 20.
