IHSAA moves volleyball state finals to Indianapolis

Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis will host the IHSAA girls volleyball state finals beginning next fall, per an IHSAA press release Friday.

Next season’s state finals are scheduled for Nov. 8.

Worthen Arena on the campus of Ball State University in Muncie had hosted the state finals since 2007.

The IHSAA has recognized girls volleyball since the 1972-73 school year. Gainbridge Fieldhouse will be the seventh different site to host the state finals.

No RTC area team has made the state finals since Pioneer won the Class 1A state finals in 2020.

Culver, who made it to the Class 1A semistate, was the only area school to advance out of their sectional last fall.
