Rochester junior Kennedy Jackson finished 20th out of 27 competitors at the IHSAA girls track state finals in the shot put with a heave of 37-1 1/4 at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex in Bloomington Friday.
Jackson’s best throw was the second of three throws that she made. Her first throw went 33-5. Her third throw went 36-10 ½.
Jackson was not in the top 10 after her first flight of throws and was eliminated.
Jackson was the Three Rivers Conference champion with a throw of 36-1. She placed second at both the Bremen sectional (37-7 ½) and the Kokomo regional (39-0 ½).
Bloomington North sophomore won the state title with a throw of 46-4 ¼. Lucas also won the state discus title (147-4).
