Kiser torches Wabash for 38 in Valley home win

Tippecanoe Valley 62, Wabash 50 (Feb. 2): Tayde Kiser scored 17 of his game-high 38 points in the third quarter as the Valley boys basketball team broke a halftime tie and earned a Three Rivers Conference home win over Wabash on Feb. 2.
Nolan Cumberland added eight points, and Kyler Johnson had seven, including six in the fourth quarter.
The game was tied at 20 at halftime, but Kiser connected for seven field goals, three of which were three-pointers, in the third quarter as Valley built a 45-35 lead.
Kiser then went 8 for 8 from the foul line in the fourth quarter. As a team, Valley made more free throws (16) than Wabash attempted (11).
Izaak Wright led Class 2A, No. 15 Wabash with 20 points, and Trevor Daughtry had 14.
Class 3A, No. 11 Valley won their ninth straight game and improved to 14-3 overall and 6-1 in the TRC. Wabash dropped to 13-5, 3-3.
Valley beat Wabash for the third straight year.
