Threlkel homers, Bussard whiffs all 12 in Valley’s win over NorthWood

Tippecanoe Valley 11, NorthWood 2 (Monday): Kaitlyn Threlkel homered and Dalynne Bussard struck out all 12 batters she faced in four perfect innings as the host Lady Vikings handled sectional rival NorthWood Monday.

Kahlyn Manns keyed the offense, going 4 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Bussard added a single, two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored. Threlkel also singled and walked and drove in two runs.

KC Shriver, Temperance Caudill, Makenzey Morton and Kylie Cunningham added one hit each, and Cunningham also had two RBIs.

Malaynie Costello scored twice, and Minda Shriver walked and scored a run. KC Shriver also had a walk.

Costello pitched the first three innings and allowed three hits and two unearned runs. She struck out one.

Valley also beat NorthWood 13-1 in five innings in the 2025 sectional.

Valley improved to 2-0. Their game against Winamac scheduled for Tuesday was rained out. Valley will travel to Mishawaka Marian at 5:30 p.m. today.
