Girls basketball
Winamac 59, Twin Lakes 39 (Thursday): Kandace Kroft hit seven 3-pointers, including five in the first quarter, and scored a game-high 30 points for the Winamac girls basketball team in a road win over Twin Lakes in their regular season finale Thursday.
Sadie Popejoy added 13 points, and Marissa Iverson and Corinne Ulerick had eight apiece.
Taylor Oliver led the Lady Indians with four 3-pointers and 22 points.
Winamac jumped out to a 21-5 lead after one quarter behind six combined treys from Kroft and Popejoy. They extended the lead to 33-15 at halftime.
Kroft is second in the state with her 82 3-pointers. Warsaw’s Brooke Zartman leads with 116.
Winamac finished the regular season 17-6 and will play South Bend Career Academy at 6 p.m. Tuesday at LaVille in a Class 2A, Sectional 34 quarterfinal.
Twin Lakes finished on a seven-game losing streak and stands at 4-18.
