Rochester 173, Triton 196, Caston 206 (Monday): Senior J.R. McLochlin took medalist honors with a 42 on senior day as the Rochester boys golf team defeated Triton and Caston in a three-way match over the back nine at Round Barn Golf Club at Mill Creek Monday.
Rochester coach Mason Heyde put the team’s four seniors – McLochlin, Enrique Navarro, Robert Bozzo and Noah Riffle – on the varsity with junior Davis Renie for senior day.
Bozzo added a 43, Riffle and Renie each had a 44, and Navarro had a 46.
Isaac Heishman led the Rochester JV with a 42.
Max Sommers led Caston with a 46. Lucas Graham had a 50, Gage Thomas had a 52, Jace Rentschler had a 58, and Chas Warpenburg had a 63.
Caston will host DeMotte Christian and Knox at 5:30 p.m. today at Pond View Golf Course in Star City. Rochester will travel to Manchester for a three-way match that will also include Southwood at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sycamore Golf Club.
In other news affecting the Zebras, the Rochester athletic department announced that the TRC tournament will be played at 9 a.m. May 28 at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru. The Logansport sectional is set for May 31.
