Mellott’s historic night carries Valley to season-opening win over Bremen

Tippecanoe Valley 68, Bremen 32 (Nov. 3): Kaydence Mellott hit six 3-pointers to break

the all-time school record and also tallied her 1,000th career point for the Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team in a road rout of sectional rival Bremen Nov. 3.

Mellott led with 28 points, and Lily Ault added four 3-pointers and scored 14 points. Corinna Stiles hit three 3-pointers in the first quarter and scored nine.

Valley hit 13 3-pointers as a team.

Valley jumped out to a 23-11 lead after one quarter and extended the lead to 36-16 at halftime.

Valley and Bremen had split their previous six meetings prior to this meeting.

Mellott finished the game with 1,010 career points. She has 190 career 3-pointers, breaking Meredith Brouyette’s school record.
