Girls basketball
Fort Wayne Northrop 67, Tippecanoe Valley 32 (Dec. 29): Kaydence Mellott scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds, but the Valley girls basketball team lost to Class 4A, No. 6 Fort Wayne Northrop at the Trine University Classic on Dec. 30.
Gabby Gonzalez scored seven points, Molly Moriarty had three, and Kelsey Cox had two.
Valley shot 22 percent from the field.
Moriarty had five rebounds and a team-high three steals. Carlee Snyder also had five rebounds.
Valley fell to 13-3. Their nine-game winning streak was snapped.
