North Miami also wins, setting up first-place TRC showdown

Tippecanoe Valley 6, Whitko 4 (Wednesday): Molly Moriarty doubled and homered as part of the Valley softball team’s seven-hit attack in a Three Rivers Conference road win over Whitko Wednesday.
Mackaylie Costello had a double and an RBI, and Brittany Benn had a single and an RBI for Valley. Corinna Stiles had a double, and Madi Smith and Anna Shock each had a single.
Stiles pitched a four-hitter with two walks and seven strikeouts in the circle. Only one of the four runs she allowed was earned due to four Valley errors.
Addie Garr had two singles and a double for Whitko, but she also took the loss in the circle.
Valley scored three runs in the top of the first inning and never trailed.
Valley is 4-0 in the TRC. They and North Miami are the only remaining unbeatens in the conference. North Miami beat Southwood 2-0 on Wednesday. Valley and North Miami will meet in Denver at 5 p.m. Thursday.
