Girls basketball
South Central (Union Mills) 48, Culver 20 (Thursday): Elexa O’Brien scored 10 points for Culver in a home loss to South Central in their season opener Thursday.
Amiyah Williams added five, Kassidy Banks and Eliana Andrzejewski had two each, and Maddy Hamilton had one.
Brianna Schlemmer had a team-high 11 rebounds, and O’Brien added six.
Culver made just four of 13 free throws and committed 29 turnovers.
South Central jumped out to a 19-3 lead after one quarter and led 22-8 at halftime.
