Ortiz goes for 9, but Culver falls at Triton

Boys basketball

Triton 26, Culver 24 (Friday): Cole Shively scored 12 points, and Dante Workman added eight for the host Trojans in a Hoosier North win over Culver Friday.

Emiliano Ortiz hit three 3-pointers and scored nine points to lead Culver. Joey Pizur added six, and Ethan Keller, Oliver Morgan and Shane Shuman had three each.

Pizur also had five rebounds and two assists. Keller had a team-high three assists.

Culver was assessed two bench technical fouls.

The game was tied 8-8 at halftime.

Triton coach Jason Groves earned his 300th career win.

Triton has won the last seven meetings with Culver.

Triton also took the JV game 38-27, which was played at Culver on Thursday. Logan Caudill led Culver with 13 points.
