Pioneer baseball tops Tri-County in opener

Pioneer 7, Tri-County 5 (Tuesday): The host Panthers built a 6-0 lead after five innings and held on to beat the Cavaliers in their season opener Tuesday.

Pioneer scored in every inning in which they batted.

Tri-County scored three runs in the sixth and two in the seventh.

Pioneer will host Clinton Central at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
