The Pioneer wrestling team’s season ended when both of its wrestlers lost in the ticket round of the Logansport regional Saturday.
Junior Brandon Sterrett lost to Harrison (West Lafayette)’s Tyquan Overall 8-0 at 138, and freshman Eli Guffey lost by fall in 3:02 to eventual champion Eli Blossom of Faith Christian.
Rensselaer won its second consecutive regional title with 150.5 points. Harrison was second with 109. Rensselaer had never won a team regional title prior to last year.
The only Hoosier North wrestler to advance to semistate from the Logansport regional was Winamac’s Austin Attinger, who was fourth at 132 and will advance to the East Chicago semistate at 10 a.m. Eastern this Saturday.
