Boys basketball
Pioneer 42, LaCrosse 30 (Tuesday): Christian Scott scored 12 points, and Drew McKaig added 11 for the host Panthers as they earned their first win of the season Tuesday.
Pioneer held LaCrosse to just three points in the second quarter in assuming a 19-12 halftime lead. They extended the margin to 28-17 after three quarters.
Pioneer went 11 for 13 from the foul line.

Girls basketball
Pioneer-Twin Lakes canceled: The Pioneer-Twin Lakes girls basketball game scheduled for Saturday has been canceled. The Pioneer-LaVille game originally scheduled for Saturday has been postponed with no makeup date announced yet.
Pioneer, ranked No. 6 in Class 1A, hosts Rochester Wednesday. Their next game is Tuesday night at home against Class 2A, No. 7 Lafayette Central Catholic.
