Plymouth scores in bottom of 7th to edge Culver

Plymouth 7, Culver 6 (April 10): Kaylee Hamilton had three hits and an RBI, and A.J. Hinds had two hits and two RBIs, but the Culver softball team could not hold onto a 3-0 lead after five innings and lost to host Plymouth on April 10.

Luci Overmyer and Abbi Kisela each had a single and a double, and Kaitlyn Kanschat also had two hits as part of Culver’s 13-hit attack. Zoey Hunnicutt and Gracie Milam had one hit each.

Hinds started and pitched 5 ⅔ innings and allowed six hits and three runs while walking five and striking out two. Hayden Lute relieved and allowed one hit and four earned runs in ⅓ inning of relief. She walked one.

Junior Kayla Johnson pitched a complete game for Plymouth. She walked three and struck out eighth.

Plymouth committed six errors that led to four unearned runs for Culver.

Plymouth took a 6-3 lead going into the seventh before Culver scored three runs in the top half to tie it. The Lady Pilgrims then won it in the bottom half.

Culver 17, Culver Academy 7 (6 innings, April 12): Marissa Milam had a homer and two singles and drove in four runs, and Kayleigh Fritch had three hits and an RBI for the visiting Lady Cavaliers as they rallied from a 6-0 deficit after three innings to beat Culver Academy on April 12.

Abbi Kisela singled and drove in two runs. Kaitlyn Kanschat had two hits and an RBI. Maegan Pearl had a hit and an RBI. Luci Overmyer had an RBI. Kaylee Hamilton had a double.

Culver had 11 hits, received five walks, stole five bases and took advantage of 12 Culver Academy errors.

A.J. Hinds pitched a five-hitter with four walks, two hit batters and three strikeouts. Culver committed five errors which led to five unearned runs for the Lady Eagles.

Culver scored nine runs in the top of the fourth to take the lead for good. They added three in the fifth and five in the sixth.

Overmyer has 3 RBIs, but North White rallies to beat Culver in extras

Softball

North White 13, Culver 12 (8 innings, April 28): Luci Overmyer singled and doubled and drove in three runs, and Maegan Pearl singled and doubled and drove in two runs, but the visiting Lady Cavaliers fell to North White in extra innings on April 28.

Culver trailed 10-8 after six innings but scored twice in the seventh and twice in the eighth to take a 12-10 lead before North White won it with three in the bottom of the eighth.

Kaitlyn Kanschat and Gracie Milam each had a hit and an RBI, and Abbi Kisela, Kayleigh Fritch and A.J. Hinds also had one hit each. Marissa Milam also had an RBI.

Hinds took the loss in relief after allowing six hits and five runs (all earned) in two innings. She walked none, hit a batter and struck out two. Fritch started and went five innings and allowed 11 hits and eight runs (five earned). She walked five, hit a batter and struck out two.

Morgan Carter and Raelynn Anliker each homered for North White. Anliker also had 14 strikeouts in the circle in earning the win.

Culver 20, Oregon-Davis 4 (5 innings, May 2): Luci Overmyer had three hits and three RBIs, and Culver hitters drew 16 walks from visiting Oregon-Davis in recording a win on May 2.

Kaylee Hamilton, Abigayle Zehner, Kaitlyn Kanschat and A.J. Hinds each had a hit and an RBI. Meagan Pearl and Marissa Milam also had RBIs.

Zoey Hunnicutt, Gracie Milam and Hayden Lute each had a hit.

Pearl and Gracie Milam walked three times each, and Kanschat and Marissa Milam walked twice each. Hamilton, Overmyer, Hunnicut, Abbi Kisela, Hinds and Lute drew one walk each. Hinds was also hit by a pitch.

Hinds pitched four innings for the win. She allowed two hits and three unearned runs while walking none and striking out five. Lute pitched the fifth and allowed one hit and one earned run. She walked one and struck out two.

O-D led 3-0 at one point, but Culver took a 17-3 lead after scoring 16 times in the bottom of the second.
