Pugh, Hovermale have 3 hits each, but NM’s season ends with loss to Wes-Del

Wes-Del 7, North Miami 4 (Tuesday): Lindsey Pugh and Khloe Hovermale had three hits each, but North Miami lost to host Wes-Del in a Class 1A, Sectional 55 semifinal Tuesday.

Pugh had two RBIs, and Hovermale scored twice.

Freedom McHenry and Delilah Weaver added one hit each.

Chloe Sparks walked three times and scored twice.

Zoey Sparks took the loss in the circle, allowing 10 hits and seven runs (six earned) over six innings. She walked none and struck out four.

North Miami committed three errors that led to one unearned run for Wes-Del.

Freshman Lois Davis pitched an eight-hitter with four strikeouts. She also had two hits and two RBIs at the plate. Freshman catcher Rylei McCord also had two hits and two RBIs.

North Miami finished 7-11. Pugh, Chloe Sparks, Zoey Sparks and Addison Tinney were the four seniors for first-year coach Amanda Walters.
