BY VAL TSOUTSOURIS

Cristian Ramirez and Arturo Dominguez scored in the second half, but the Tippecanoe Valley boys soccer team lost to No. 5 Fort Wayne Concordia 11-2 in a Class 2A, Sectional 22 semifinal at Fort Wayne Canterbury Wednesday.

Jon Ruiz contributed an assist.

Sam Brunow had a hat trick for Concordia, and Aiden Boersma, Tim McDonough and Samuel Aumick added two goals each. Elijah Macke and Andrew Carr also scored.

Concordia had a 24-6 advantage in shots on goal and a 7-0 edge in corner kicks.

Valley finished the season 3-10-3.

Overall, it was an up and down season for Valley soccer,” Valley coach Andrew Luce said in a statement. “The team showed growth, dealt with a rash of injuries, and held their own against the majority of their opponents. The Vikings return 16 of 19 players, so the future looks bright. The off-season will be an important time for the program as it attempts to continue moving forward up the ladder in the tough Three Rivers Conference.”
