Rochester boys win sectional bowling title; girls take 7th

Hisey, Harrington, Paulik, Gamble, Samuels advance as individuals

The Rochester boys bowling team won the sectional at Chippewa Bowl in South Bend on Jan. 6. They will next compete at the regional at City Lanes in Michigan City on Saturday. (photos provided)

The Rochester boys bowling team won the sectional title at Chippewa Bowl in South Bend on Jan. 6.

They boys received sectional champions medals and a plaque recognizing their Michiana West Conference co-championship, their season high team game score of 1,043, their season team high series of 2,052 and their season team high average of 845.

Enrique Navarro and Carson Paulik were selected first-team all-conference, and Wesley Lawson and Braden Harrington were selected second-team all-conference.

In addition, four Rochester boys advanced to the regional as individuals: Guidry Hisey, who was fourth with a 629; Harrington, who was eighth with a 584; Brady Gamble, who was 16th with a 560; and Paulik, who was 17th with a 557.

The Rochester girls finished seventh and did not advance as a team. Adie Samuels advanced as an individual by finishing 10th with a 439.

City Lanes in Michigan City will host the regional Saturday. Individual play starts at 9 a.m., and the team competition will start at 1 p.m.
