Howdeshell allows 2 runs in 4 innings, adds 2 RBIs at plate

Rochester 19, Culver 2 (5 innings, Friday): Mylee Heinzmann had two hits and three RBIs, a Mia Howdeshell allowed two runs over four innings for the win in the circle while contributing a single, two walks and two RBIs at the plate in the Lady Zs’ home win over Culver Friday.
Aubrey Wilson went 2 for 2 with a single and a double and two RBIs, and Brailyn Hunter, Bria Rensberger and Makhia Hardin had two hits and two RBIs each.
Darah Strasser had two hits and three runs scored.
Aubrey Miller also had a single as part of Rochester’s 14-hit attack. Jadyn Field had an RBI.
The offensive outburst came two days after a forfeit loss to Logansport in which they had only one hit in four innings off Logansport pitcher Brooklynn Haggerty.
Abigayle Zehner had a double, a walk and a run scored, and Aiden Molebash singled and drove in a run for Culver (0-2). Savannah Schlemmer had a single and a walk.
Schlemmer pitched three innings and allowed 12 hits and 17 runs (12 earned). She walked four, hit two batters and struck out four.
Hayden Lute relieved and allowed two hits and two runs in one inning. She walked two, hit a batter and struck out one.
Culver committed three errors that led to five unearned runs for Rochester.
Rensberger’s two-run single and Field’s RBI groundout gave Rochester a 3-0 lead in the first.
A sacrifice bunt from Strasser and a throwing error, Wilson’s RBI double, Hunter’s RBI double, and another Culver error on Makhia Harding’s bunt made it 7-0 in the second.
Culver scored in the top of the third on an error.
Harding, Heinzmann and Howdeshell had two-run singles as part of a 10-run third.
Heinzmann added another RBI single in the fourth.
Rochester is 3-3. Culver fell to 0-2.
