Rochester’s Dunwoody finishes 24th at state in final prep 110 hurdles race

Rochester senior Harrison Dunwoody finished in 24th place in the 110 hurdles in 14.89 seconds at the IHSAA state finals at North Central High School in Indianapolis Saturday.

Dunwoody was competing in the state finals for the second straight year. He ran a 15.36 and finished in 27th at the state finals in 2025.

Dunwoody broke the Rochester school record with a 14.52 at the Warsaw regional nine days earlier. That came a week after he ran a 15.00 at the Plymouth sectional. He finished second behind Manchester’s Carson Heath at both races.

Franklin Central’s Rylan Hainje won the state title in 13.16 seconds. He broke his own state record of 13.20 set in the qualifying heats. Hainje also broke his own state record in the 300 hurdles in 35.26 seconds. He beat runner-up Omar Daniels of Kokomo by 2.65 seconds.

Westview’s Noah Bontrager won both the 1,600 and 3,200 in state-record times of 4:01.83 and 8:47.57, respectively. In the 1,600, Bontrager broke his own state record last year.

Brownsburg broke the state record in the 4 x 100 relay in 40.60 seconds.
