Manchester’s Wiley eliminates McCarter in single tourney

Volleyball
Rochester goes 3-0, takes Twin Lakes Invite (Saturday): The Rochester volleyball team went 3-0 at the Twin Lakes Invitational Saturday to win the tournament.
RHS beat Western 2-0, Benton Central 2-1 and Frankfort 2-0.
RHS will play LaVille at 11 a.m. this Saturday at Bremen in a Class 2A, Sectional 35 semifinal.

Rochester def. Whitko, 25-19, 25-12, 25-18 (Thursday): Kaitlin Rogers had 11 kills, and Emily Hughes had six kills for the visiting Lady Zs in a win over Whitko Thursday.
RHS finished Three Rivers Conference play 7-2. They finished in second place behind Northfield, who went 9-0.
Dalanie Chipps had three aces and 14 serves received. Hannah Houston had three blocks. Emma Howdeshell and Molly Conley had seven digs each. Conley also had 24 assists.

Volleyball sectional tickets on sale Thursday: RHS will be selling volleyball sectional tickets from 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Thursday at the RHS athletic entrance by the football field. Tickets are available via pre-sale only. Tickets are $6.
RHS will play LaVille at 11 a.m. Saturday in the sectional semifinals. If they win, they will play again at 7 p.m. in the final.
Boys tennis
McCarter falls to Wiley (Thursday): Rochester senior Grant McCarter lost to Manchester’s Brady Wiley 6-1, 6-1 in an IHSAA singles tournament match at Peru High School Thursday, ending his season.
