Harness, Zimpleman add 8 each, but Lady Vikings avenge regular season loss

Girls basketball
North White 42, Caston 39 (OT, Friday): Isabel Scales scored 19 points, grabbed six rebounds, dished out three assists and had two steals, but the No. 3 Caston girls basketball team lost in overtime to North White in a Class 1A, Sectional 52 semifinal at Tri-County Friday.
Bailey Harness and Addison Zimpleman added eight points each for Caston. Harness had a team-high seven rebounds, and Zimpleman grabbed six rebounds.
Macee Hinderlider had four points.
Caston finished 20-3, but they lost three of their last four. North White won their fourth straight and improved to 8-17.
Caston had beaten North White 45-34 in their regular season meeting at Caston on Nov. 11.
North White led 16-15 at halftime, but Caston rallied to take a 30-29 lead going into the fourth. The game was tied at 37 after regulation.
Tessa Robertson and Abigale Spry scored 12 points each for North White, who knocked Caston out of the sectional for the second straight year.
Caston shot 28 percent from the field as compared to North White’s 45.5 percent. North White also had a 32-24 rebounding advantage. Autumn Reif had 11 rebounds, and Robertson added 10 boards.
North White will meet Tri-County in the final at 7:30 p.m. today. Tri-County routed South Newton 51-15 in the other semifinal.
