Thomas, Holloway, Mellott, Stiles make all-TRC team

Girls basketball

Rochester’s Lexy Thomas and Rily Holloway and Tippecanoe Valley’s Kaydence Mellott and Corinna Stiles were selected first-team all-Three Rivers Conference in voting done by the conference’s coaches and released to the media.

In addition, Rochester’s Kami Burkett and Valley’s Molly Moriarty were all selected honorable mention all-TRC.

Thomas averaged 11.9 points per game, 8.6 rebounds per game and 2.1 steals per game. She shot 56 percent from the field and had six double-doubles in 18 games.

Holloway averaged 8.4 ppg, 1.7 apg and 1.8 spg. She shot 34 percent from 3-point range, including 43 percent in the final 18 regular season games and 58 percent in her final five regular season games.

Mellott was the leading scorer for the conference champs at 17.4 ppg and also averaged 5 rpg and 2.5 spg. Her 75 3-pointers were a school record, which she shot at 34 percent clip. She also shot 49 percent from 2-point range.

Stiles averaged 9 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 2.3 apg and 2.5 spg. She ranked second in the conference in rebounding and also ranked in the top 15 in assists, steals and points.

Thomas made the team for the second straight year while Holloway, who transferred from Valley following the 2020-21 season, and Burkett were recognized for the first time.

Mellott also made the first team for the second straight year. Stiles and Moriarty were recognized for the first time.
