The Tippecanoe Valley girls tennis team lost 5-0 to Warsaw in a sectional semifinal at Columbia City High School Thursday.

All five matches were decided in straight sets. Valley finished 7-10 under first-year coach Emily Ackerman.

Warsaw has won the sectional titles the last 20 times it has been played. They have not lost a sectional dual match since 2000. They will play either Columbia City or Whitko in the sectional final on Friday.

Valley has never won a sectional title.

Valley singles players included Lydia Miller at No. 1, Talia Holder at No. 2 and Madelyn Weaver at No. 3. Valley won two games – both from Holder – in the three singles matches combined.

Lily Ault and Andie Schwenger lost 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, and Nataly Rodriguez and Ella Sandbakken lost 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.
