Valley game vs. NorthWood moved to tonight

Boys basketball

Valley at NorthWood, ppd.: The Tippecanoe Valley-NorthWood boys basketball game scheduled for Tuesday was postponed to Wednesday due to snow.

Game time is 6:15 p.m./7:45 p.m. (JV/Varsity) at NorthWood.

Girls basketball

Wagner nominated for player of week: Valley senior Sidney Wagner was nominated for the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association/Franciscan Health player of the week award for District 1 girls for the week of Jan. 25.

Wagner had 20 points, five rebounds and three assists in Valley’s 62-49 win over Manchester on Jan. 28. She also hit five 3-pointers and scored 27 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out five assists in a 58-52 loss to John Glenn on Jan. 30.

The award went to Homestead junior Ayanna Patterson.

Middle school girls basketball

Warsaw Edgewood 39, TVMS 22 (8th grade, Thursday): Mackaylie Costello and Lydia Craig had seven points each for the TVMS eighth-graders in a loss to Edgewood Thursday. Carlee Snyder, Bailey Bussard, Emma Patrick and Avery Wagoner had two points each.

Costello had a team-high seven rebounds, and Maddie Thompson added five.

TVMS is 9-2 and 7-0 in the Running Rivers Conference.

Caston 22, TVMS 14 (6th grade, Thursday): The Lady Vikings were tied 6-6 at halftime before falling to Caston Thursday.

TVMS 35, Argos 22 (8th grade, Feb. 10)

TVMS 39, Argos 12 (7th grade, Feb. 10)

Mackaylie Costello scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the TVMS eighth-graders in a win over Argos Feb. 10. Lydia Craig added eight points, and Carlee Snyder, Emma Patrick and Avery Wagoner had four points each. Maddie Thompson and Bailey Bussard had two points each.

Snyder added five rebounds, Thompson had four rebounds, and Craig had three boards.

In the seventh grade game, Gaby Gonzalez scored 19 points and had eight steals for TVMS in the win. Dalynne Bussard had 10 points, seven rebounds and four steals.

Kahlyn Manns had six points, and Kalli Butcher and Jaciey Long had two points each.

Maci Parker had five rebounds. Manns had three rebounds and four steals. Lindsay Petersen had two rebounds and two steals. Betty Shepherd had two steals.

Middle school boys basketball

Whitko 30, TVMS 26 (8th grade, Feb. 9)

TVMS 39, Whitko 19 (7th grade, Feb. 9) Ian Cooksey scored seven points, and Blain Sheetz added six points and a team-high six rebounds for the TVMS eighth-graders in a loss to host Whitko in the second round of the RRC tournament Feb. 9. The Vikings finished 6-15.

In the seventh grade game, TVMS won behind Wes Parker’s 14 points. Gage Overbey chipped in with seven points and eight rebounds. TVMS improved to 17-5.

TVMS 42, Wabash 10 (8th grade, Feb. 8)

TVMS 28, Wabash 12 (7th grade, Feb. 8)

Oliver Trigg scored 12 points, Tristyn Ragon had 10, and Blain Sheetz had six points and five rebounds for the TVMS eighth-graders in a win over Wabash in the first round of the Running Rivers Conference Feb. 8.

In the seventh grade game, Landon Patrick scored nine points, and Grady Moriarty and Wes Parker had eight each for the Vikings in the win. William Mellott had three rebounds.

Middle school wrestling

Urey 36, TVMS 15 (Thursday): Remington Rickel won two matches, and Jaxtyn Virgil, Thad Shambaugh, Jordan Lybarger, Joseph Lybarger, Denver Wilson, Colton Crabb and Adin Wagoner all won matches for TVMS in a loss to Urey Thursday.
