Valley girls tennis beats Maconaquah, improves to 1-2 in TRC

Tippecanoe Valley 3, Maconaquah 2 (Wednesday): Karegan Callahan and Talia Holder won at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, respectively, and Lily Ault and Ella Sandbakken won at No. 1 doubles for the host Lady Vikings as they beat Maconaquah to improve to 1-2 in the Three Rivers Conference Wednesday.

Callahan took down Molly Tenny 6-3, 6-0. Holder handled Zoe Moore 6-2, 6-2. Ault and Sandbakken squeezed out a 6-3, 7-5 win over Josie Callane and Kaydence Jones.

Lydia Miller lost in three sets to Kiera Rosenow at No. 2 singles, and Sarah Finney-Madelyn Weaver lost in straight sets at No. 2 doubles to Finley Dobbs and Kailee Meadows, though Finney and Weaver took the first set to a tiebreak.

Valley also won the JV match 4-3.
