Valley receives Unified Flag Football bye

The Tippecanoe Valley Unified Flag Football team received a sectional bye, according to the Unified Flag Football draw held Monday.

Valley is one of seven teams participating in the Warsaw sectional, which will be held Sept. 30. Valley will play the winner of the Warsaw-New Haven game in the semifinals.

In the other half of the draw, Homestead will play Manchester and Carroll (Fort Wayne) will play Fort Wayne North Side in the quarterfinals.

Sectional tickets are $5.

Regionals are set for Oct. 7, and the state finals will be held at the Grand Park Sports Event Center in Westfield at noon Oct. 14.

This is the sixth year of the Unified Flag Football state tournament. Valley has won three sectionals and a regional in its history
