Swimming

Manchester 85, Tippecanoe Valley 74 (girls, Wednesday)

Tippecanoe Valley 76, Manchester 64, Northfield 12 (boys, Wednesday)

Shayleigh Honeycutt won both the 200 individual medley and diving for the Valley girls swimming team in a home loss to Manchester Wednesday. In addition, Kendall Craig won the 200 freestyle, Ava Craig won the 500 freestyle, and Makena Smith won the 100 breaststroke in 1:17.17.

In the boys meet, Brandon Hoffman and Carson Parker won four blue ribbons each as Valley topped the Squires. Hoffman won the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke, and Parker won the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. They also teamed up on the victorious 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays.

Logan Hummitch won diving and teamed with Hoffman, Parker and Karl Parker to win the 400 freestyle relay. Karl Parker and Grady McGriff joined Hoffman and Carson Parker on the 200 medley relay team.

Valley 54, John Glenn 24 (Thursday): Cameron Mason, Brandon Hammer, Bazle Owens, Dalton Alber, Ian Becker, Drake Montelongo, Jacob Manns, Branson McBrier and Darren Crump won by fall for Valley in a home win over John Glenn Thursday.

Noah England won a JV match by fall.

Girls basketball

Valley 42, Fairfield 29 (Thursday): Kaydence Mellott hit five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 17 points, and Sidney Wagner added 11 for the host Lady Vikings (6-3) in a win over

Lily Ault (five points) was the only other Valley player with multiple field goals.

The Valley defense held Fairfield to one point in the fourth quarter. The 29 points allowed were a season low. Valley came in allowing 51.5 points per game.

Valley led 22-20 at halftime.

Valley also won the JV game 37-22. Molly Moriarty and Mercedes Snapp had 10 points each, and Chesnee Miller had eight for Valley.

Tristyn Ragon scored 10 points, Ian Cooksey had nine, and DeOndre Hamilton had six for the TVMS eighth-graders (2-10) in a win over Triton Thursday. Hamilton also had seven rebounds.

In the seventh grade game, TVMS (9-4) lost despite 13 points from Gage Overbey and 11 from Landon Patrick. Grady Moriarty had a team-high seven rebounds.

Wabash 35, TVMS 33 (8th grade, Wednesday)

Tristyn Ragon had 13 points and nine rebounds for the TVMS eighth-graders (1-10) in a loss to Wabash Wednesday. Oliver Trigg had nine points and four rebounds.

In the seventh-grade game, the Vikings (9-3) won behind eight points each from Landon Patrick and Gage Overbey. Grady Moriarty had three points and three rebounds.

Ian Cooksey and Tristyn Ragon scored nine points each for the Vikings eighth-graders (1-9) as they earned their first win against North Miami Tuesday. Oliver Trigg had two points and a team-high 11 rebounds.

In the seventh grade game, Landon Patrick poured in 12 points, and Grady Moriarty had two points and six rebounds for TVMS (8-3) in the win.

Owen Omondi scored 10 points to lead the TVMS sixth grade “A” team (7-2) past Maconaquah Thursday. Hunter Paxton added nine, Hunter Stage had eight, Greyson Shoemaker had three, and Max Harsh had two.

In the “B” game, Noah Mellott scored three points for the Vikings (3-3) in the loss. Damian Garcia and Owen Ryan had two points each.

Hunter Paxton scored nine points for the TVMS sixth grade “A” team in a win over Rochester Tuesday. Owen Omondi added six points, Greyson Shoemaker had five, Hunter Stage had three, and Noah Mellott had one.

In the “B” game, Mellott led TVMS with six points in the win. Damian Garcia, Owen Ryan and Parker Adamson had four points each, and Max Weaver and Michael Samuels had two points each.
